For Sale - Electrolux - '92 Hilux Extracab

Post by a4x4kiwi » Wed, 15 Dec 2010, 17:45

I have decided to have a reverse auction right here on the forums.
The battery range is down to about 9km on a warm day. The Inverter doesn't always start immediately in damp weather, but it always starts after about 5 minutes to 'warm up'

The starting price is $5000. I will reduce the price by $200 dollars each week until sold, or the price matches what I can get from the wrecker and battery recycler.

Feel free to post questions here or PM me if you prefer. Any offer considered.

Mal.

I saw a ford laser with AC drive last night that might take that first place.

Can you post some recent pics. Inside and out.

I've got some friends north and south of Sydney that might be interested.

What year was it registered as an EV?

Looks pretty tidy.

Has it got 4 seat belts for the front bench seat?

It has 2 seats in front and 2 small (kids) seats in the back with seatbelts.

The body had been re sprayed black and in places where the paint is chipped the white original color shows through. Under the bonnet has some surface rust but nothing structural. Some leaks have been fixed where the guard meets the dashboard above the foot wells.

It was first registered as an EV in March 2009.
The front seats have seat covers. The drivers seat under the covers has a tear on the RH side. You don't notice with the covers on.

The interior is very tidy for its age. Carpets are reasonably clean and the dash is clean and does not have any cracks. It has an MP3 CD player / stereo with 4 speakers.

The indicators, side lights and tail lights were all new 2 years ago. They are 'Alteza' style.

There is a video of the ute driving including Dash located http://a4x4kiwi.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html

FYI The tacho now shows motor current.

If you need any pictures that you cant find on my blog, let me know.

I think registering it in Victoria may cause some complications than just transferring it NSW rego and getting the RWC.

For History sake what was the date of registration as an EV?

I'm surprised it's not snapped up by a local.

I wouldn't think it would be too difficult to reg. in Vic seeing as how it got passed in NSW - but with VicRoads you never know. I'd think they would just require a new Engineering report but from a Vic engineer.

I am really surprised that someone hasn't bought this yet. So much of the hard work has been done and it's such an easy platform (vehicle installation) to work on.

It really is an easy platform to work on. Everything on the tray is like a big work bench. :).

It was registered on 7th of March 2009.

Your car has the Industrial Inverter, The Ford laser has special EV prototype. Soryy for my silly incorect comparison.

Do you have the industrial software to configure the Danfoss Danfoss 5042
Danfoss industrial variable speed drive.

Does it come with the Ute. Is it RS232 or RS485 or other interface.

Does the DANFOSS have Braking resistor control module?
Or is new Precharge fitted?

Does the motor have Encoder fitted?
Or does the DANFOSS 5042 have one?
Just looked at
5000 Series Manual

It shows it on A/B 32,33 terminals.

If I went for the purchase I'd want to add two more motors onto front wheel drive shafts. Its a Big Modification. Maybe better on a fresh DIY job. And keep your UTE as you built it.

Yes, Industrial inverter

Yes I have the software however it is really of little to no use. the monitoring doesn't work correctly and it is easier to configure from the keypad.

RS485 complete with RS232 converter.

No braking resistor. The braking energy goes back to the batteries.

Yes it has a precharge contactor. It is internal to the VFD

Yes, there is an encoder fitted to the fan end of the VFD. 800ppr if I recall correctly

edit. Seat covers are in good condition. It has 4 x floor mats also.

Speedo is 335249. 4737 EV kilometers

Sort of sad to see it's gone but it does allow you to move on to another project. The link to the final post doesn't work for me but the E30 one does. looks like an interesting project. Can you put up a link to Woddy's AC spread sheet you mention in your blog?
