Re: 20 x Leaf Cells

Just as a side note I have been using a Meanwell HLG-320H-42A power supply to charge them in groups of 5.
The idea is that when the pack contactors are on the 20S pack is ~152V.
But when the car is off and the contactors are de-energised the 20S pack is broken into 4 x 5S packs.
So 38V nominal and 41V charged.

The output of the meanwell supply has quite a bit of capacitance so I have to precharge to avoid arcing.
Also when the power supply is unplugged from mains but still connected to the batteries it draws approx 60mA.

The HLG-320H-42A has a pot for setting the max current and a pot for max voltage (CC/CV).
It is fanless, IP rated and even when turned up it only gets snugly warm 8-)
So the short answer is NO but the long answer is YES.
