OTA Update v10.2

Last week I got the latest software update OTA V10.2 on my M3.
Now it recognizes wheelie bins (quite hilarious!!) and side posts on the road as well as stop signs.
Unfortunately it does not yet recognize kangaroos

It’s just soooo relaxing in a backup of traffic to just sit back and let ap take care of the stop/start creeping....and the funny thing is the improved ‘fuel economy’ as well.

Well 16.2.1 arrived today and now the hands free warnings (only on motorways) is now every 50 seconds. Enough time to unpack the sandwiches.

Hmmm........that applies only for 2-3 times then it reverts to much shorter.

Will send my AI bot in the autonomous VTOL on v45.ZZ.b2 to look for them. Oh no that's right, the VTOL flew back to the dealer for the service.

Well today something quite violent happened - my puny base model responded to a heavy slamming of the throttle to the floor in such a manner that I’m now wondering if afterburners also arrived FOC......just as well it isn’t FWD

If anyone else tries the ‘slamming’ technique I’d like to know if an improvement is noticed.

A YouTuber in the US was just talking about the 20.12 update and mentioned his phone had recently stopped opening his car when approaching it.......seems I wasn’t the only one.

Well I’ve had 24.6.9 for a few days driving now and I thought music streaming was more consistent in connection but I was mistaken. I’m struggling to find anything significant in driving and media connectivity as being improved much. Toys - I’m not interested.
Straight (major) highways are fine but backroads are not worth the stress IMO.......you will enlarge the potholes however.
The FSD talk is a mystery to me.

One of the toys may have been turned into a useful tool with 24.6.9.
The little red dots on the sentry review timeline means that i may actually check events.
Two events is probably just me leaving and coming back with my elderly father.

Looking forward to traffic control distinguishing turn arrows and it not bleating at roundabouts.
FSD is mostly useless but i love watching the improvements.

Yeah I forgot the dots but my priority is the dramatic autopilot improvements promised and the elimination of false town limits etc.

28.6 was installed yesterday, and today autopilot accelerated to nearly 80 in a recognised 60 zone, so I’m not sure if this update isn’t more of a regression.

They are just trialling part of the "kill all humans" update. I'm sure they will want to get all the kinks out before it gets out of beta

Is there something substantial to this apparent massive rewrite supposedly coming this year ?

As I understand it (although I haven't heard much) the update is not so much about improvements but about future proofing and being able to run the code faster.

Does anyone else have to select D twice sometimes, or is it that I’m simply too quick because of some sort of self check being performed ?
Similarly, the indicators don’t always drop (basic) autopilot .
Increasingly I’m not sure of what to expect each time.

Well, according to Model3Man; it appears that the vehicle we were following ‘dragged’ us way over the speed limit and is a feature of the update 28.6 ......something to do with following through traffic lights it seems.
Unintended consequences which could get you BOTH ‘nicked‘.

Well I just got update 36 this morning way out here in lil ol’ awstraya.
I’m not an ‘influencer’ am I, or is it that random ?
I do send ‘bug reports’ though.............?

Nope, i got it to. Green light chime seems to work as much as i can tell within 5km (after turning it on). We're now getting features only a couple of weeks after Murica. No hint of speed sign recognition though, not that it was listed in the update notes.

School/clock speed zone appeared but it’s a bit too slow to obey the signal.

OTA update 36 - you can accelerate to a speed beyond the ‘detected’ limit and simply tap that speed and it will enable TACC selection BUT you can’t use ap until you enter a ‘legitimate’ speed zone.
I don’t know if this is just a short term workaround a mapping problem in country areas in particular.

Well 40.4 means speed signs show up and will mean you don’t exceed it, but it doesn’t recognise the diagonal DE-restriction sign that sometimes takes the place of the speed sign.
Also, the problem of strong regen occurring inappropriately due to map errors (phantom towns/limits) still exists unfortunately.
Our old TomTom is more accurate.
So, under such circumstances, you can’t use autosteer whilst ‘exceeding’ the supposed town speed limit.
Oh well, one day........
