EVs available in Australia (list)

Post by PiMan »

Just thought it would be useful to have a list of EVs that can currently be bought in this country. I'm far from perfect, so if you spot anything missing or mistaken, or you can think of something directly related worth adding, then leave a comment and I'll update the original post.

For more details on many of these vehicles, check these two sites:
https://myelectriccar.com.au/evs-in-australia/
https://www.drivezero.com.au/cars/elect ... alia-list/
Thankyou to g4qber for the links.

New EVs: Coming soon
Used (Some may be impossible to find at any given time, but were at some point available new in Australia):
PHEV and range-extended (all available new):
  • BMW i8
  • Hyundai IONIQ plug-in
  • Land Rover Range Rover PHEV
  • MINI Countryman Hybrid
  • Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV
  • Porsche Cayenne e-hybrid
  • Porsche Panamera e-hybrid
  • Volvo XC60 T8 Polestar
[ Edited Coulomb: fixed formatting. ]
[ Edited Coulomb: added Kona, updated Ioniq URL ]
[ Edited Coulomb: added Coming Soon section, links to Leaf coming soon, importers for Leaf and MiEV Minicab. I hope the Just Buses link will work as stock changes. ]

I'd add the Kangoo ZE to the list of EVs available now.

Also hope to be able to add the Ioniq EV + PHEV and the Kona EV to the list by year's end.

I think the Fonzarelli's are still available new, they sent me an email last week.
Should grey imports be a separate category? You have the minicab i-MiEV there, Nissan e-NV200 and some later model Leafs have also been imported.
I think there are a few european plug in hybrids missing too, definitely at least one Audi, possibly some BMW and Mercedes.

... plus wait till EVNews comes out in next week or so-full Australian availability BEV and PHEV list including basic some specs for each in it. (Apologies for delay getting newsletter out: getting it all into the new format is taking longer than expected!)
Cheers

I'll get the Fonzarelli moved.
I put the minicab in because I've seen it as used on Carsales.com.au
I'm treating one Leaf as no more than any other and so won't be moving it in my list unless Nissan brings the new one here or I see evidence that dealerships of any sort have them in new (even if they got them via grey import). Similar with the e-NV200; if I can see evidence that any dealers have them new or used, or private sellers are selling them used, then I'd add it to the appropriate list.
I don't really know how importing works on a private level, so I'm hesitant to include it as its own category.
Thanks for the links. I knew that something like this existed because I'd seen it a couple of years ago, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to have another collation of information for people who might stumble on this site first.

There are two e-NV200s on carsales.com.au at the moment.

This link should give all the electric vehicles currently listed (54)

Thanks. I'm not totally sure why I haven't seen it before, since I do occasionally jump on CarSales to see what EVs are available these days and their prices. I'll add it now.

I can't quite tell if any customers are driving their Konas yet based on these forums, but I'd say the release is so imminent that it is worth moving from "coming soon" to released. I have just done so.

On-the-road pricing (or even ads on CarSales) not yet to be seen, so keeping the Kona electric on the Fact Sheet (http://www.aeva.asn.au/sites/default/fi ... 2.26_0.pdf) as a 'TBC' guestimate on pricing till it happens. (Mind-you, the guesstimate is a bit out ... will fix on confirmation via actual dealer listings :) )

Learned of the MINI Countryman Hybrid yesterday and I've added it to the PHEV list. MINI will also be releasing the Clubman Hybrid later this year, another PHEV.
They say they've got a pure EV set for next year too, but so far it's just another concept EV to add to the pile.

Thanks, added. While it has always felt to me that we don't have enough EV models, I'm definitely seeing a respectable number of PHEVs these days. All the more so because those PHEVs are part of their main lineups, not some quirky extra like the Leaf or the Zoe.

There really are so many more PHEVs available than I thought. I'll take the Volt off the list and stick to cars available new, I think.
I'll add all those PHEVs to the list now, as well as two of the ACE EVs. As far as I can tell, the ACE Urban is not available yet but the Cargo and Yewt are.

I've added the ACEs and Porsche, but I couldn't find any of those BMW or Mercedes PHEVs on their official website and so I'm not confident they are currently available.
I've also alphabetised the lists.
