I am liking these especially with the carbon fibre plastic body and rear wheel drive. I hope they have huge success and be great to have some electric vehicle manufacturing in Australia.

I'm not sure how Australian these are as yet, or will be. These are all left-hand drive for now. The kangaroo logo on the front might be photoshopped on.

The car seems awfully Chinese. Not that it's necessary bad, they have a bucket load of EVs there. I'm guessing it's (and always will be) Chinese built and flat packed to Australia where it's "assembled" so its Australian made...ish

Apparently they will produce more of the parts in Australia as production Ramps up. And they are assembling them somewhere in Logan south of Brisbane. I hope they prove to be a good vehicle I am keen to check them out sometime.

Ah! That's fifty times closer to me than Maryborough. Where did you get this from, as a point of interest?

The ABC did a report on the Van on news breakfast or whatever one to two weeks ago, and repeated the report more than once. Maybe 5 mins long, interviewed some people, showed the workplace a bit and it is in Logan :)

Having been through the Blade experience of dealing with a start-up, this is where I stand on this situation.

Start-ups need a good support network for a product (ev) to do the job that owners expect. They need repair locations within reach with personnel who know what they're doing (as a reference, think what a monster job it was for Tesla to establish those charging startions. Where? Anywhere they expected a Tesla to be. So, a repair network for start-ups is required).

There needs to be readily available parts at these locations, the parts need to be as reliable as we commonly expect (and I wish they weren't contrived to only work on a particular vehicle).
The vehicles have to have the complex safety requirement fitted.
The vehicles need to be durable, reliable, have acceptable range. And then they need to be at an affordable price, relatively speaking. Low maintenance costs mean nothing if just one likely part costs $1000 plus. Maybe if that part needs to be replaced at the 8 year mark, not where the model has a particular fault.

The current vehicle makers will make it as difficult as possible for a new brand to enter the market, make it hard for the public to see it.
I think the Government should assist these types of industries by assisting universities to research related components and then give the rights to this research to local industry, like the US government does.

I'd like the new Volkswagen of the EV's to appear in Australia, always have wanted this. The 'first car' for youngies, the car you have when you need to get somewhere and don't care how you do it.

I did hear mentioned that ACE EV wants to setup assembly plants around Australia so if that happens they should double as car sales, service and parts etc.

It seems that they will now be manufactured in Adelaide, "up to half of the parts will be made in South Australia" and up to 15,000 vehicles per year by 2025.

Hey, I'm pretty sure I want one too, but I already said it all, above, on the 28th of April.

It needs to, as a car, "just do it" and it needs to be friendly to repair and parts, cost and availability. I hope they can do this, or be seen to be doing this.
