Seems no battery factory is legit unless it's a 'giga' factory...

10 electric models by 2022 is pretty serious!

Random person wrote:I really don't know if you can call this Gigafactory
Well they claim to produce over 4GWh/year for Merc.
That would make it a GIGA-FACTORY. Image

One thing I was unclear of was that I was under the impression that A123 cells had a patent or something.
How is it that now everyone has lithium battery technology?

You can understand why all the car makes want the tech.
It'll be the best way to make money on cars.
They never made money on the petrol so is a new source of revenue.

The link below will auto open a pdf detailing 20 years of lithium battery patents.
It has pretty graphs and pie charts so everyone can "read" it.

So what I take away from this is everyone makes the same thing but differently.
Bit of a joke really.

HEY what are YOU reading this for - it's a private conversation Image

I got bad news for you Richo, I'm back at work on converting to the new (phpBB) forum and it looks like it'll happen very shortly now. IIRC, it doesn't do brownie points Image
