Since the 12V battery is not covered under the 5 year warranty maybe they are fishing for, say, $350 to replace it... otherwise they haven't sold you anything as a service centre ?

Then they told me the "main" battery had failed the test, and would I like them to replace it today?..........

For a pack that's had no noticeable decline in capacity, this feels like a fishing expedition

might see what they charge for a new pack where I get to keep the old one.....my blade could do with a new battery, as could my solar system :p

About $10k for a new battery pack..... Image

Our iMiEV is heading in tomorrow, they said it was just an exploratory stage (whole day!!!) and would need to go back if any issues were identified. Our local dealership is hopeless however it would be PITA to take the iMiEV elsewhere like I do with the PHEV.

Oh I've got other cars, so I could still get around, but yes they had my Miev for the entire 3 & 1/2 weeks.

Mind you it was weird having to fill up on petrol once a week, as I use my Miev for every day running. So I normally only worry about petrol once every 2 months.

I hope you don't have to endure the same waiting period

FWIW it seems to me my new brake vacuum pump is somewhat quieter, for whatever reason.

And reecho - I remember reading that the iMiev battery pack was $11k when they were first released, but are now down to more like $6k and falling.

Either way, I hope I never have to find out!

I've been waiting for 126 days so far.
Love the extra room in my garage though. Hope they keep The tyres pumped and the main and Aux batteries charged from time to time

update,
My Dad's iMiev has now died

iMiev fault

it's going back to paceway tomorrow

does anyone recognize these error messages?

Canion sort of appears to connect to the car - odo and such update, but it can't connect to the car's BMS (no cell voltage data, but the battery temp sensors do update

4 months without your car that's crazy!

As for the one with the dead dashboard. I'm assuming they fiddled with the indicator stalk as part of there (so called fix) if the car worked for a while then perhaps it's somthing they didn't plug back in 100% . Look at all the main loom plugs around that area and make sure they are all home and seated.

Good luck

Bad 12 volt batt maybe ?
Perhaps next time service at Southside Mitsubishi
Hindsight 20/20

Looks like Paceway may be getting a bad reputation
Hopefully they lift their game in future.
They are a corporate member.
Shota the mechanic has left Paceway to study at ECU.

Mitsu did the final recall today, and low and behold, our Satnav is now working again (see another thread where they gave us every excuse). I'm guessing disconnecting the 12V battery might have been the solution however I don't know if they actually did anything to specifically fix the Satnav as we gave up asking them to fix it. All satnav settings were back at defaults so something was reset.

Ever since the first 4 recalls were done we've noticed consistently about 5km more range showing after a full charge. I've checked with EvBatMon and the BMU ECU is still reporting the same battery capacity. So that leaves a firmware change giving a new RR algorithm, or possibly it might be charging to a higher voltage as it seems to take more driving to drop the first bar? Anyone else with a 2010 found more RR predicted range after their recalls were done?

My experience with Cessnock was fine, as they are my local dealer, but they did keep my car for 3 & 1/2 weeks.

I don't see how you could tell - temperature variations in the mornings can affect my range estimate more than a few km either way, plus I rarely let it charge up to 100%.

This morning it was at 100% and I saw the RR at over 100km for the first time in some months. Remember I live atop a hill so I can sometimes have almost as much estimated range after driving 20km to work as I did at the start. Plus, this morning was notably warmer than any day in the past month.

So I dunno what to tell you, but it's at least possible!

I guess the reason I suspect a change is that we've consistently seen 105 - 109 since the service, and never seen that in the previous 2 years so including 2 summers. As I said, the battery has not re calibrated its capacity and it happened the very next charge after the first 4 recalls when they said they updated software.

We've received a complete new charger (left box under the black boot lid) as well as a new brake pump so glad we got the recalls done. They had our car for only a single day on 2 separate occasions for the 5 recalls so Gosford have redeemed themselves.

We had 4 recall items done at Chadstone Mitsi. They had the car for for only 2 days.

Yes have noticed a slight increase in RR from mid 90's to low to mid 100's, had a big drive day 2 weeks ago after recall service and did 92 km's with RR down to zero at days end.

Our recall's were:
- Turn signal and lighting switch correction
- EV ECU reprogramming - Brake Warning Lamp
- Vacuum Pump replacement - Brake Warning Lamp
- Check for rust on the drive battery frame

"holden volt needed its 12vdc batt replaced $345"

They must be replacing it for a gold plated one with diamond encrusted terminal posts.

Took my i-MiEV in and they found an old recall for the DC-DC converter which needs to be done first, so need to bring it back in a couple of weeks.

Our range has gone back to the normal 97 or so. I think the replacement of the charger or something else they did during the recalls reset the BMU stats, which have now updated, meaning the RR is more accurate again.
