shows the grid storage options available a.t.m and they have been running forklifts for a year already. I am waiting to hear back about their BMS options and pricing etc. The grid storage devices are impressive.

lightning car company uses the lithium titinate battery which has double the life but less Ah/kg which is mostly grid storage applications as well
which would be a good option for the super fast DC dump charge of 6 minutes(!!!?MW?)claimed although Alithions titinate cells claim 30 minute charge time so I suspect the discharge max could be similar.

If zinc air or flow batteries or super supercapacitors aren't hitting the street in the near future they could have a chunk of the market coming their way, I wonder if the current LiFePO4 ones might suddenly get chinese customer cheap in response?

BTW I have some stuff on the way which can 4x extend the life of lead acids in the meantime, also can rejuvenate dying ones, will try the treatment and get back about that.

Sometimes I wonder which battery technology might have inherited the world if Lithium didn't come along? Apparently the '99-'03 Rav4 EV was getting 150,000mile from NiMh & there were some interesting tweaks to lead acid happening even before that.
My fav vapourware at the moment is this. Some descriptions you read just leave you scratching your head on exactly what they might be, especially when your emails go unanswered.

The zinc air battery electrolyte has been nanoengineered to not evaporate and apparently have been made rechargeable too, another 10x energy density improvement possibility on the cards

Sorry this looks like nothing more than batteries in fancy packaging.
Good for end users who can use a screwdriver.

Is there a reason why these a considered the "best" batteries other than looking pretty?

the kolibri batteries are polymer, low temperature and are a new production method, there is a link to the inventor and his thesis somewhere, he got a grant to start it up after coming up with the method of production, they have higher energy density and lifespan. They had an audi quattro EV that they drove for 500 miles on a charge with juice left, it got destroyed in a mysterious warehouse fire, sort of a stamp of approval from the car lobby I guess. They won't sell anything but the grid storage setup which has an inverter built in that automatically takes over the load when the grid fails, you just plug it into any socket. A screwdriver and some fandangling could see it wedged into an EV I guess... no answers as to pricing, perhaps some solar importers might have a better chance of finding out.
