Cannot list in For Sale section
Hi
I have just joined and wanted to list a vehicle in the For Sale section. I get an error message "You do not have permission to post new topics in this forum". Can this be fixed.
Cheers
Byron

It's pretty standard for any forum.
It's not easy for the forum software to lookup if you have paid your membership.
Admin would have to get the up to date list of financial memebers, your personal details, forum details.
Then assuming it was even possible in the software manually change it for you.
Chris is this possible?
Most admin usu just tell you to post which is easy

Hi Byron, just send me a PM with your membership number and date joined so I can confirm then will set your forums account to "AEVA Member". These forums don't link to the membership records, so if you haven't posted much yet and want to list an item for sale, just gotta let one of the admins know you are a member.
cheers

C'mon, it's -easy- to build-in an eCommerce module (at least it -would- be, ie, if the forums were built in any of several cost-free, open source community forum systems).
The process could then become something like:
1. Pay membership fees online,
2. System checks for Financial Membership any time someone posts an Ad.
3. Only if NOT financial, hide Ad, & send a dues-due reminder.
4. On receiving payment, display the member's Ad.
"The only limitations are the ones you take with you" (eg, proprietary forum system).
A -team- should be responsible for a community's Forum system, so that skills of each team member combine to enable innovation to happen regularly.

Well let me put it this way, the suggestions people such as IVI make are very welcome, but as we already do have a forum team of sorts (all volunteer basis I should add) and this team could always do with some extra help if those people are happy to put in some time.
The fact at the moment is these forums have been very successful over the past 5 years since I set them up. And before that, AEVA had NO presence on the Internet (other than a very outdated static web page). The only way to move things forward, is to have actions rather than just suggestions from those not willing to contribute.
Currently our membership secretary is going through the forum accounts to activate/deactivate "AEVA Member" statuses on financial/non-financial members - account details which I am extracting to assist this process.

I still think it is -easy- for members to be involved in posting a few messages before they post in the fore sale section.
