EV2Go's - Lithium Powered Trike

I tend to lean towards plastic for light weight and also corrosion resistance. However, here you may also have to worry about UV resistance, any idea how the plastic will stand up to UV?

What about price, up front and also if it has to be replaced down the track?

FWIW, the shiny plastic one looks nicer and I like blue!

I found an old metal one I'm going to use on my bike because it's easier to modify :)

It would be way more exciting (for us) if you ran the motor and held a hacksaw to the shaft. Image
No, I would not rest the armature on the field laminations while anything vibratary (word?) was done..

Edit: added 't'

Agreed - just take is easy and check temp. every now and then.

Are you sure you don't want to think about this for a day or two?
Removing all of the rear-end of the shaft may make putting a tacho or encoder on to the motor a bit more difficult.

How did you manage to get your menu items to link to your following posts? I have just been replying to my first post when I put up new stuff and it looks like the URL is the same for the whole topic.
