All insurance companies are intertwined in risk cover .....the LA fires, earthquakes and cyclone destruction filters down the line . $1000.00 is today's bargain.....in not a bargain.....fair value .

NRMA was about $2500 for our eDeliver 7, so we went with Budget Direct for just over half the cost.
That was a mistake!
We were collected from behind when turning into a driveway by a Landcruiser with massive bullbar on Boxing Day, and have been stuffed around by BD ever since. Now we have to organise a date with the 5th different repairers to get a quote. BD did not accept (the claims assessing dept is in South Africa) the previous determination that it was a write-off, so we have to try another one. Fortunately we can still drive after I set up a new lighting arrangement for the trashed rear left side lights.

When initially researching insurers I came across one (can't remember the name) who said they specialise in EVs, but the requirement was to run their app on your phone with tracking turned on whenever driving the car so that they could track you in real time. That wasn't going to happen!
Off-grid since 1991, currently about 7kW of PV
20kWh LiFePO4 battery since 2012, 9years CALB, now Winston - 16 X 400AH cells + 16 X EVE 314AH, 15kWh for better EV charging
Purchased Evan, an LDV eDeliver 7 in March 2024
