I have a better story - when I was a teenager, a drunk driver crashed into our neighbour's front yard, and tried to flee by getting out and slamming the door shut. Unfortunately for him, he locked the door from the inside and slammed it shut on his fingers, effectively cuffing him in place. The issue with doors locking has been around for 30 or so years, had a Holden leave the road and crash into our driveway (1 of many) and rolled over, the driver was rescued and immediately after all the doors locked and could not be opened, nowadays we should have a glass breaker.
Its not that difficult to remove a fuse to disable the central locking before a race on a track.
