Is Abarth a performance branding of Fiat, like Nismo for Nissan? Manufactured, sold, and serviced by Fiat? I saw a page claiming that Abarth is a tuning company that buys Fiats, modifies them, and sells them as Abarths. But the 500e seems to be a Fiat model, though with an Abarth badge on the front.

Will most readers understand that an Abarth is a Fiat? So Abarth should be a subforum of Fiat? I imagine that most discussion about Abarth and Fiat would apply to both, with some discussions pointedly being specific to one or the other.

[ Edit: I see I already asked this question last year, in one of the very few Fiat EVs posts so far. ]

Lexus and Toyota are different enough that they need separate forums, it seems to me. So each new brand needs careful consideration.

I've added all Joseph's suggested brands, with Arbath under Fiat for now, except for Rolls-Royce. I think that there will be few discussions about the Rolls, though we may get some questions from their chauffeurs.

Hmm now we have Smart and Skoda
Skoda to go under Volkswagen ?

I forgot about Subaru. I saw a Subaru Solterra plugged in on Mandurah AC station on the weekend while checking out the Mandurah Toyota AC station. An MG4 was using the DC station.

You're causing me a lot of work! :P But that's great; thanks for the pointers.
Skoda to go under Volkswagen ?
Tricky. I've put it there for now, even though Škoda have their own web site in Australia separate from VW. Lets see if there are howls of protest. Fortunately, the inflection (?) above the S doesn't prevent it from matching with plain S, so when people search for Skoda without the inflection, they'll still find it.
I forgot about Subaru.
Also added. Separate from Toyota, even though they are probably at least partly made in a Toyota factory, but they are somewhat different. And I assume sold and serviced by Subaru, not Toyota. At least that one is easy.

Peugeot and Porsche need to be in “P” section. Thx.

Was looking for Mitsubishi and got bamboozled by the two out of order brands.

Sorry about that, fixed. The part of the administrator's interface that deals with forum order is particularly awkward to use.

I'm gettting through them! Thanks for the list, Joseph.

I've decided that for the time being, each marque will get its own forum, until we decide that there are just too many forums to scroll through. So Škoda was a sub-forum of the Volkswagen Group (now called simply Volkswagen). I'll do the same for Kia and Mini. Holden Volt, since it's no longer available, will stay under Chevrolet/Holden.

If the number of forums becomes too much, we might consider splitting into region of manufacture, e.g. European, Chinese, etc. But even then, it's hard to categorise some, like Volvo: they are Swedish Designed (I think), but Chinese manufactured. A Tesla could be German, American, or Chinese (so far).

Maybe we'll just split by first letter of the marque: A-E, F-...

It's a shame that the phpBB Category hierarchy is depth-limited. I think another level or two would provide a good solution for this conundrum!

In most browsers Ctrl-F will bring up a little panel for you to input a search term to make that job a little easier.

I think 2025 will be a busy year for EV forum adminisrators :) A good problem to have.

All done, thanks. I had noted the unusual spelling of Alfa, and still typed Alpha. I also typed Romero in one place. Sigh.
