Vectrix free to anyone who wants it

Post by david_b »

Hello to anyone that may stumble upon this.

I am in Melbourne/3095.

I have a 2007 Vectrix VX-1 (Silver), bought new (one owner). When it was running, it covered around 11,000-13,000km total. I can't power it up to confirm sorry. Some time around 2015 the battery had degraded to the point where it wouldn't charge anymore. I removed the battery but that's all, it was never converted to lithium or anything. I still have the original NiMH batteries, those come with it and they are super dead.

I'm giving it away. But if I can't find a single person who wants it and can take it away it's going to e-waste, or wherever Vectrix go to die permanently. If you're seeing this in late January 2025 or after, too late sorry.

If you want it, I want you to have it, or know somebody who might want it, text me 0425827761. If you want photos, I can do that.
If you think there is a busier platform (facebook group or anything) that has a chance of finding a new owner, suggest away. If you have questions I will do my best. David.

I am in Melbourne/3095.

I've forwarded this on to the Vectrix Whatsapp group and a couple of friends I have in Melbourne who aren't on this forum.

The vectrix is a great base for a long range cruiser, I've put 20 kWh in one before for 200 km range. I'm certain someone will be in contact soon

EOM bikes in Wagga Wagga have leaf modules available (would give 80 - 100 km range), if there's anyone looking at this Vectrix

It's safe from going to scrap, not sure I'll be safe when the wife finds out I have yet another project ;) She did say I wasn't allowed to get any more cars .... this is not a car eh 8-)

I'm hoping to head over that way in a week or so to pick up the Lexus from Phil so I can load that on the truck as we pass through .....

Terry has claimed it, first come first served. It is his unless he changes his mind. Happy days.

The Vectrix is back in Mannum, had a safe trip back home along with the Lexus GS450h from Phil out at Mt Bruno. Still on the truck, after a 12 hr drive home I was ready for a shower and sleep last night, it is a very warm full sun day here in Mannum at the moment, so staying under the air con might be the plan of action for today

Thank you very much Phil and David, besides a good wash and new batteries, the Vectrix is in great shape .... it might require a bit more than a wash and a battery to get the Lexus back on the road though .... how his son walked away from that one is a testament to the brilliance of those cable barriers rather than the Armco fencing, and how the Lexus was built as well ......

The Vetrix and the Lexus are finally off the truck. Things to do on the motorhome, the forklift not being available from the workshop next door, then Xmas and New Yr and a few weeks after till next door reopened after the holiday break messed with unloading ..... and maybe a bit of laziness on my part because it was so hot, but now it's done, that is another monkey off my back 8-)
