A PHEV. [ Edit: Sigh. The first sentence starts "We are thrilled to announce our first all-electric vehicle..." It's a full electric. ]

Pretty sure the EQC is a BEV.

Yes, I parked next to one at an EV charging station. But it seems that the EQC series is all-electric.
Mercedes hybrids available (?) in Australia seem to include the A250e, C300e (I parked beside a C350e), e300e, and GLC300e. It looks like the "e" at the end implies "half electric" Perhaps at one point (when designing the naming convention), Mercedes could not envisage anything "more electric" than a plug-in hybrid.

Re: Mercedes EQC 400 is 2020 Car of the Year
We recently purchased the "car of the year for 2020" and impressed with the ride quality and range of our EQC. However, I'd thought Mercedes would have been better prepared in supporting their first EV in terms of major spares availability in Australia.

Welcome to the forum. Tell us more about your experiences with the EQC .... the 2021 model new drive-away looks to be $151,411, but there are demo models of the 2020 with around the 5,000km on the clock for as low as $126,000 drive away .... $25,100 off for a demo model isn't bad ....

Thanks for the welcome Terry, we were a hybrid owner (the trusty Prius) for over a decade and was great to upgrade in terms of luxury and the full EV. We assessed the luxury rivals being the iPace, eTron and Tesla X model and from my assessment the EQC won hands down.
What I love about the EQC: very quiet, great comfort, great safety features, good tech and good range.
What I struggle to understand about our motor car: 90% of the cabin is of superior quality except the centre console that you only need to look at and will scratch! Also, they seem to have installed the cheapest windscreen wipers on the market! We had need for some works and took months to have the parts into the country (accepted that COVID added to the delay but surprised that these were not made available in Australia).
Overall we are pleased with the EQC and we'll be keeping an eye on future models and upgrade when the range matches their EQS which is being quoted as greater than 700km!

The EQS does look like a stunner, but the bit about bi directional facility allowing the battery to power the house will only be in the Japanese models was a bit of a joy kill ... then this bit
Looks like I won't be selling the house and few of the kids to buy one .... if I can't open the bonnet

Cheeky buggers, can't open your own bonnet .... how do you stand there with all the doors and flaps open to show off you flash new car if you can't open the bonnet?as does a service flap for refilling wiper fluid on the front left quarter, allowing the bonnet to be opened only by a specialist workshop as necessary to fit air filters and other replacement parts.
