I rather hijacked the Kona thread on using a space-saver wheel and having done some research thought it could be useful to put my research here, and if there are issues we can resolve them.

Firstly I could not find the answer on any other Ioniq forum. Rather strange I thought.

By way of background, when I ordered my Ioniq, I insisted the dealer find me a spare, and they did tell me they could not source a space-saver, but I accepted a full size wheel. I did not check that myself until two years later, which was this week. What I discovered is I have the wrong steel rim, and a tyre size that is not the same as my Ioniq. The tire size is not a big deal, because its for a 7inch rim whereas the Ioniq has 6.5 inch rims. But the zero offset means its 50 mm too far OUT, and actually protrudes from the body work. So pretty useless. And I won't bother to keep the tire as a spare because I would rather fit identical tire sizes.

But there is a fabulous web site which will show you visually what a different wheel will look like compared with your standard. But you need to have the standard dimensions right. On this web site I have selected the 2020 model year, which is what I have

https://www.wheel-size.com/size/hyundai ... v-usdm-134

From that you find the standard on my car is 205/60R16 which is 6.5Jx16 ET50. Other than the offset, I can confirm all the rest of the settings.

Now there is this fabulous web site, and that link shows both the standard Ioniq wheel and a space saver I have found for the Kia. And you can scroll down a little bit and see one wheel superimposed on the other, and you can try other wheel size combos. It also has all the statistics on speedo error etc.

The space-saver my son found, has this part number 52910 A6900

This web site item probably wont last long, but indicates the part number I refer to :

https://vi.raptor.ebaydesc.com/ws/eBayI ... 3135812888

It indicates that in this case it suits - 2015 KIA CEED SPORTWAGON 16 INCH SPACE SAVER WHEEL KIT 125/80R16 FOR YEARS: 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 (2015). But it likely is fitted on other Kia's as well. Not sure how easy it is to be found in local car scrap yards, but my son will check one this week. I note this vehicle sold in Australia was not a big seller, and was badged Kia Pro_Cee'D. Not been able r=to get hard proof of the space-saver from an Australian source however.

I hope that this all hangs together.
