How many Kona or Ioniq EVs in Australia?

Does anyone have a link to stats on the number of fully electric Kona and/or Ioniq that have been imported so far and of how many have been sold in Australia?
I am also interested in any information relating to Hyundai's intentions as to its long term support for BEVs in this country.
We have owned two Hyundai in the past, An Accent and an i30 and both have been decent vehicles. I would seriously consider getting a Kona If I had sufficient confidence that Hyundai was going to promote and support its BEVs here for years to come.

Hi Lou.

I looked at this a while back so can't remember where exactly I found all the information (so working off vague memory).

Hyundai had lobbied our federal government prior to the last federal election regarding support for an EV market here in Australia. The Labour party was supporting the initiative, but our Liberal government did not support the subsidy initiative (I guess somewhat like in Europe). I do know that Hyundai have a joint initiative with the NT government with a fleet of hydrogen vehicles. Jump on the Hyundai website and look at their mission etc.

Our family converted from Subaru to Hyundai. They just seem to be willing to take the initiative and their EV Kona's are big in the Europe market share.

ha ha ... well I needed an appropriate name for my new KONA EV which came about because I'm in the midst of a mid-life-crisis and well this purchase was my environmental conscious doing the right thing. Could have got the 2-door sports petrol version for a lot less $$$

I'm hoping that my choice and advocacy for EV and Hyundai in particular (maybe I should be on commission?! ) helps to drag Aussies out of the dark ages and in line with Europe and Asia which are so much more progressed on this front.

Cumulative. The new sales each year are still stubbornly low, but always higher than the year before.

I did! That Y axis should probably be labelled "EVs on the road" as it's a cumulative total.

Thanks for the figures Chris. 5277 BEVs for the last full year is something anyhow. Possibly even enough to keep 1 full-time repairer in business, he..he. Extrapolating from the last 3 reported quarters appears to show a coming decline. Then, of course, Christmas sales rush could make up for it.

It provides these global sales figures for Hyundai for the month of August 2020 compared to same month in previous year:
BEVs: 3,580 (down 26%)
PHEVs: 526 (down 46%)
Total plug-ins: 4,106 (down 30%)

AND
Again, sales for month of August and YTD
Hyundai Kona Electric – 2,452 and 35,628 YTD
Hyundai IONIQ Electric – 1,128 and 10,314 YTD
Hyundai IONIQ Plug-In – 526 and 5,875 YTD
Total: 4,106 and 51,817 YTD
The graphs on the same page give a fuller picture but do not show significantly increasing sales.

Now, If only I could discover how serious Hyundai is about its mid to long term commitment to EVs in this country. There has been much talk that Hyundai cannot keep up with demand, especially for the Kona BEV. And I know that some have been waiting for many months for their ordered vehicle to arrive, but you would think that any company with such a successful product would quickly ramp up production to score huge profits. Or, have I missed something?

Thanks Chris! I wonder why NT is so low... Maybe they know hot climate is no good for EV?

An instinctive reaction would be that there is a lot of long distance driving deterring EV ownership, but if I recall, the NT has one of the lowest annual kilometres driven of any state/territory, presumably because lots of cars are mostly driven around Darwin only.
