Kona Highlander sunroof

Post by LORAX »

HI,

Devastation ... the ceramic blue with white roof highlander is not being manufactured anymore so I have to change my order!!!

I definitely wanted a white roof which is only optioned with the grey body in highlander spec. So I am back to either all white with sunroof highlander option or going to the Elite spec without the sunroof.

I have major concerns about longevity of sunroof (leaks and other problems) but wanted the other perks with the highlander spec.

any advice on sunroof?

Pick-up a recent second-hand ceramic blue with white roof one?

I too am not a fan of sunroofs - which is why I bought an Elite. :-)

Thanks Bryce.
Before I received your response I had sent that to my dealer to see whether they could access - I'm in WA so not so easy to cross the border to purchase :?
So it is a wait and see game for me.

Was wondering what state you were in! They can ship cars across the border though.

I got a highlander for the heated seats and heated steering wheel particularly. It lets you avoid a lot heater usage for greater efficiency but I now really like the ventilation, fancier headlights, head up display, electric seat adjustment etc. The sunroof was something I could take or leave but preferred a single colour. I doubt the sunroof will leak, especially as we rarely open it.

Thanks Peter.

Yes like you have have ended up opting for the perks and will suck up the sunroof (although still don't understand why they can't manufacture without sunroof). They all roll off the same production line ...

I mean this is my mid life crisis car - so need the toys and gadgets.

A couple of people now have mentioned the seat heating/ventilation being a great thing for reducing the need for the AC and no-one has reported any issues with sunroof specifically so far, although Hyundai did have legal action settled on moonroof for a different model (I think).

I can't even get one shipped from Melbourne to regional Victoria because of covid 19. I hope it is't sitting there at 100% SOC.
It is meant to be Highlander but with no sunroof. In fact I think this may be the actual car I am buying...

I hope they didn't give it a too hard time.

I got the sunroof because I wanted all one colour.
We use it a lot but it's still only 6 mths old so nothing negative to report at this stage.
If it helps, I wash bird decorations off the roof with a pressure washer and it's not been a problem thus far.
