Im currently exploring the Charge Point system of 15 public charging stations in Sydney and there are some good and bad points.
5 of them are Nissan Dealerships and the points are in the Mechanical workshops for use by mechanics servicing customers Leafs and IMievs and are not available for public use.
So far I have charged up at Rouse Hill and found the system easy to use.
Just flash the RFID card over the lock and the trap door unlocks, plug in and wait...or go shopping. I was able to unlock and use both points with the one card and got 8kWh out which was logged on my account page.
So Im going to post some pics to familiarize readers with the locations make it easy to use.
These are at the bottom the Rouse Hill Way Civic Drive ramp

Hogging two power points for 4 kW charging I see (edit: 8 kW! Nice) Image I'll have to do that for my bike at the track too. Hope QR has good power.

The technology interface of most public EVSE's is pretty cool. Largely unnecessary but in the early stages it all helps.

Nice pictures mind if add them to the recargo/plugshare database ?

a lot of the Nissan dealers have them because it's a requirement of servicing the LEAF that you give the car back the client fully charged.
some are available to anyone but they all are J1772 plugs

by the way next time you head into the city you might want to check out the city of sydney ones http://api.plugshare.com/view/location/39954 and http://api.plugshare.com/view/location/39953 they are just free to use (parking cost a bucket load through) 15amp power points.

Hi people,

I have visited the Charge Point web site a couple of times and cannot get the "UPDATE" button on the map to work?

Even though I have updated my Suzuki to lithium batteries, I still have the same 10amp 240 volt charger and cable - it makes charging from a power point at home very easy. Therefore I can only (I assume) plug into public charge points which are a "match" for my 10amp extension lead? I also assume that this is called a "Level 1" charge point?

When I get onto the ChargePoint website I tick/check the Level 1 points only and then click update - end result is that nothing changes!

Am I misunderstanding something?
Thanks in advance,
Paul

A note for all to remember... to not try and use a clear plug in the ChargePoint 15Amp sockets. It may not work as they have "plug sensors" built into them. I use a grey plug and others I know have wrapped their clear plug with insulating tape to get around this.

yes there are no level 1 charging stations in Australia has level 1 implies 100-120 volt AC
Level 2 is 220-250 Volt AC and up to 80amps. levels don't really indicate amperage but voltage. level 2 may also include 3 phase mennekes (type 2) so 400-440 volt.
level 3 is reserved for DC fast either CHAdeMO, CSS type 1 or type 2 or tesla supercharger.

and all the levels is not set by any standards body but just decided on by someone and stuck from what I've read.

http://www.plugshare.com/ at this website look for anything listed as Wall outlet 3112. on http://www.recargo.com/search you want anything marked as Type-i

on chargepoint you click on the location and look for "Port 1: (230V, 15A, AS/NZS3112)" and not "Port 1: (208/240V, 30A, J1772)"

If you want to use a J1772 port you'll need to buy one of these J1772 tester to convert the J1772 port to a type-I/3112 outlet.

I use the chargepoint iOS app
level 1 = 15 amp
Level 2 = 30 amp

We have
1 lvl 1 - 15 amp bollard in Perth
2 lvl 2 - 30 amp stations at nissan dealerships.
