Replacement Tyre

Post by TomZoe »

Hi All,

I have moved to Darwin and have the only Renault Zoe in the NT. Still love driving it and was saddened when Renault pulled Zoe from Australia.

Having it serviced privately as Renault dealer refuses to touch.

The cabin air filter I ordered on line from Europe. I am into 4th year of ownership and car has done 33000km.

I'm very nervous at lack of spare tyre though driving around Darwin.

Would this tyre work and what does "Run Flat Tyre: Yes" mean?:

Description
This luxury tyre delivers excellent wet and dry handling and is original equipment on top touring vehicles such as BMW 5 & 7 Series, Mercedes S-Class and Audi A6.

Brand: Michelin
Type: 195/55R16 Tyres
Tyre Pattern: PRIMACY 3
Load Index: 91
Eco Friendly: No
Repairable Run Flat Tyre: No
Run Flat Tyre: Yes
Speed Rating: V
Drive Style: Everyday Driving
Availability: T-Marts
ID: 11887

Would appreciate any thoughts.

Have just reviewed LouB's post on buying a ROH Azzuro wheel and tyre for it.

Not an answer to your question, but do you happen to have a link for the cabin air filter?

I do all the servicing on our Zoe, which basically amounts to checking nothing has come loose anywhere

at 100'000km I'm thinking I should probably change the cabin air filter (it's one of those things I've never bothered to replace in any vehicle ever)

Hi Matt,

(1) This is how to do it:

https://catalog.mann-filter.com/file/Pr ... a1jTSC.pdf

(2) You need either of these 3 Mann Filters (As with the Rycos below, price seems to vary based around the material used)

CU25012
CUK25012
FP25012

I have since found them in Australia:

https://www.sparesbox.com.au/part/mann- ... -fp-25-012

https://runautoparts.com.au/cu-25-012

https://runautoparts.com.au/cuk-25-012

(3) Apparently Ryco ones (below) will fit too but I think I will stick with Mann.

This one looks like it would filter COVID-19:

or these two other Rycos:

https://www.sparesbox.com.au/part/ryco- ... r-rca329ms

https://www.sparesbox.com.au/part/ryco- ... er-rca329p

I changed the 12volt battery at the 3 year mark but understand that not everyone does this.

Tom, our Zoe (bought last year) came standard with Michelin Primacy 4 tyres, they are the one I would go with, although Primacy 3 seem to be the same price, handling, wear etc ratings. The Primacy 4s are amazing, handling and grip is quite impressive, especially in the wet, but they do tend to encourage you to drive a little faster than you should...

Thanks for that - I also understand that run flats are less efficient (ie encourage more energy use) as they are heavier.

I'm wondering if the Energy X or whatever Zoe's first came with have been discontinued.

It's a bit sad for me as in the NT i also need a pickup truck for travel outside Darwin due to roads and lack of any charging infrastructure ....

I've some research and it looks like Primacy 3 tyres are no longer available.

Perhaps primacy 4 is the replacement?

I'm still fairly keen on run flats and the reduction in range I can cope with as the furthest I've been out of Darwin is Coolalinga!
