Thought I'd do a bit of an update on our Zoe, we got one of the last pearly white ones available in the.country from Ballarat and got it shipped to Adelaide, arriving at the end of November last year.
We have done over 4000km in it so far, and except for a minor power steerimg fault before Christmas, it has performed well and is great fun.
We have so far averaged about $1/100km through solar charging with the Zappi V2 and occasional using the free or cheap chargers around Adelaide and down on the Fleurieu Peninsula.
Lack of DC fast charging hasn't really been an issue, but would be nice for some of those longer trips.
2.5 months, 4000+ km Gong well so far!
Re: 2.5 months, 4000+ km Gong well so far!
Hi Jackmoz, I'm in Adelaide and looking at possibly buying one of these from a dealer in Victoria. I would like to have a look at one first and was wondering if you might be able to help? What would be the best way to contact you? Cheers, Mark.

Hello Jack,
Very nice looking pair of cars you have there! How do you find the Zappi charger with the Zoe? When I bought my Zoe (very happy with it also) in November, the salesman strongly intimated that the only home charger I could use was a Jet Charge, otherwise my warranty would be voided. But the Zappi looks like a perfect fit with my solar system. Love to hear your thoughts,
Regards, Russell

Hi Russell,
We have been very happy with the Zappi so far, plenty of customisation and it means that we don't draw much from the grid (unless we absolutely have to for a road trip)
We have 8.8kw of solar plus a Powerwall 2.
As far as chargers go, the power conversion is all done by the car so I don't really see how they could say that it can affect your warranty... I believe that there are possibly issues with charging at low rates continuously, but no issues I'm aware of using other type 2 chargers.
We also regularly use public type 2 and type 1 chargers with great success. Currently on the Yorke Peninsula with the Zoe, about 200km from home.

Hello,
many thanks. Yes, I am told it is better not to charge the Zoe at low rates ie 2.4kw. Can a minimum rate be set on the Zappi to ensure the charge rate stays above this level, ie 3kw?

Yeah, the default is 1.4kw under the type 2 standard, but you can adjust it to whatever you want.
I've got it set to about 2.8kw at present.
