Re: Vampire drain
If I was going away for that long I’d be using a taxi rather than the industrial pollution route of paint degradation.g4qber wrote: ↑Tue, 19 May 2020, 07:34 https://youtu.be/OtbwqvcVd_k

Re: Vampire drain
Yes but 6 months isn't all that long for a car to be parked up in the grand scheme of things.
What happens if you get sick and have to go into hospital or something.
Granted they're not daily drivers but I have paddock bashing cars that I haven't even seen in 3 year's and I reckon that I could go to them and they would run on the stale fuel in the tank.
When I last used the cars I had every intention of going back to them the next week (but life and kids happen) so I never did any special preservation things to them. If they were teslas then they would be dead sticks, possibly permanently.

Well I’d simply leave it plugged in charging in the 40-60% range as advised, locked up in the cosy garage.brendon_m wrote: ↑Tue, 19 May 2020, 11:04 Yes but 6 months isn't all that long for a car to be parked up in the grand scheme of things.

Re: Vampire drain
is that 6months to flat or 6 months to a damaged battery for the model 3?
the former is acceptable, the later is a serious issue

Re: Vampire drain
Something to keep in mind if buying a model 3 for a paddock basher for sure.

Re: Vampire drain
Why have a Datsun 120Y when a Model 3 could be used instead?

Re: Vampire drain
Either way I would make use of the periodic starting maintenance that NRMA & others provide.
