I'm sure the model S had everything turned up full 100%. What do you expect production car vs a custom drag car.
15 seconds 1/4 from the I3 is ok for a shopping car (similar times to a stock run of the mill 4cyl ICE hatch) that's not built to go fast. You need to be pulling 10 sec or less before it feels real quick and for any one to take a 2nd look.
