I didn't know we still had de-restriction zones. Presumably the map data will be adequate in those remote areas.
I haven't noticed 40.4 slowing down for posted speed signs; it just nags with the pulsing limit icon.
It had no problem recognising construction zone signs, although the ones i saw were normal red ring signs, just down near the ground.
Personally i don't mind autonomy obeying the law; it has to be easier to encode. Once all cars obey the law, maybe the limits will start going up (remind me in 50 years). Either way, level 4/5 will reduce the value of fast transit.

Yeah the de restrictions signs are few and far between now that I come to think of it.
Resting your foot on the accelerator is something I recommend on the connecting roads and minor highways because the mapping errors can cause a situation in traffic.
I don’t know who is responsible for overseeing errors such as fake town limits but I’m collecting a comprehensive list of potentially embarrassing locations .
In Victoria we have some advisory town limits ‘ahead’ type signs and that is now identified as the regen/braking point......and another inappropriate action will occur.

Should be mandatory for distracted drivers to get a Tesla as part of their penance.
Teslas have dangerous wiggles at certain spots in WA so pay attention.
I’ve had speed recognition go down to 5kmh too.

Speed laws may need to be changed for vehicles with speed recognition.
Takes 7 secs to slow from 110kmh to 80kmh.
Currently need to be at speed limit before passing the sign.

After 40.4 speed recognition works pretty well but maybe the old(?) de restriction sign recognition is patchy because it worked for Andy (Teslander) but not when I went past one ......they do seem to be pretty rare now.
Mapping errors remain beyond major highways.

Forgive me as I’m a bit old for this tech stuff, can you explain one who is only capable of plug n play understanding of USB use ?
Is that about sentry storage device or music sticks for preparation before an update or something else....

I’m just wondering where the mapping errors (speeds) come from.......maybe it’s that autopilot simply makes the errors obvious now.

Well today’s little sojourn to Echuca resulted in finding the mapping error is now resolved by legible speed signs overriding mapping speed errors......sooo much better now and the most significant improvement to me in my environment.
