The Mitsubishi-supplied Eclipse-brand sat nav/stereo has the sockets in the back to take a reversing camera input and automatically come on when reverse is selected in the car. We got one installed when I realised that the Eclipse device could be bought from car accessory places to put in any car and an optional Eclipse accessory to include or leave out was the reversing camera. That would give you a seamless reversing camera solution but doesn't give you Apple CarPlay. If you phone is old enough to still have a headphone socket, why not just plug it in as an audio source via the cables in the glovebox?

Original sat nav in my 2011 imiev was rubbish.
Especially in terms of locking onto satellites.
Sometimes never locking on.

Have AVN827GA from reecho. Sats lock on within 1 min.
Sound is a bit off at the moment. Have to pull up on rear electric window switches to make sound right.

This inquiry is on behalf of Greg who wants to keep his imiev but wants reverse cam and Apple CarPlay
