That's getting then down to the price that the dealerships in NSW & WA have been selling them for a while (checkout carsales.com). Not sure why VIC took so long to drop the price. I think there's a glut on the market of used lease iMiEVs which is making it hard for used dealers to keep the price high. Or is there another reason there are so many 2010 models with low kms for sale right now? You don't see that many used Leaf's for sale.

Yes I bought my 2010 Miev about 3 months ago in Sydney for $16,888 before trade-in.

They are still selling them for that price at the Mitsubishi-Holden dealership on Victoria Rd in Ryde.

The kilometres are in the same range ie 8000-25000. Mine had 20,000km on the dial.

That's where I bought my 2012 with 28 kms on it. They apparently bought up a whole lot of iMiEVs. The owner of the used car lot is sold on them.

I paid $25,000 for basically a new 2012 (warranty until end of 2020) which is less than the the VIC mob have been trying to sell used 2010s.

Yeah they're good prices there at Hunter Mitsubishi.

I got $4,000 for my trade-in, which made my Miev very affordable.

$15,000 for a 2010 in Perth, you could probably get it shipped to Victoria for the less than the difference, but registrations would probably be a pain. The i-MiEV I got in Perth was actually last registered in Victoria though.

a) leds headlights
b) car alarm
c) sat nav
d) keyless entry
e) scuff plates
f) auto up/down all windows
g) better alloy rims

I feel real bad, just last Sunday I met with another 2 iMiEV owner in Sydney and forgot Gabz (didn't know about iDavid). I had invited John(Katoomba) and Laura(Syd) however they were unable to make it. I'm Gosford area which involved a 170km round trip and charging at Castle Towers shopping centre which is where we met.
Greg had invited Dr Michael Symons who now owns an iMiEV. Michael is the first person in Australia to road register a converted EV over 25yrs ago and is VERY well known in the EV world. It was great to chat to Greg and Michael, and I'd love to have another meeting, however its going to be hard to find a spot within 100km of us all!

By the way, 20Kkm iMiEV from Ryde can be had for < $15k if you want to negotiate hard.

Oh don't feel bad as Christmas - New Years period is the worst time to try to organise such a thing.

Yes that 100km radius is a must as I hardly ever get over 100km from a full charge. The best I've managed was 104kms the day I bought my Miev and travelled north in order to get home from Ryde. I got as far as Morisset albeit on turtle mode. I had to use a power point in the Woolies carpark there, for 2 & 1/2 hours, to get enough juice in order to make it home.

OMG I am so impressed by your courage. I haven't yet (and can't imagine doing it EVER) pulled out of the driveway knowing I had further to go than my battery would take me and trusting that I'd find a carpark somewhere to let me charge. You're a legend.

Out of curiosity, how did you charge at a Wollies carpark with a new iMiEV? Did they have a 15Amp ppt? Did you arrive at Ryde prepared with a converter?

I sleep(drive) easier now that I have a Volt charger in the car that has the std 10A plug so, if I end up on turtle far from home I'll be more likely able to find a spot to plug in.

But it was all replanned whilst I didn't have any choice if I wanted to drive the car back to Cessnock.

I calculated, due to the distance and the large number of kilometres I'd have to travel on the Freeway, that I would have to stop somewhere regardless of being told the range was 150kms. I read around various forums, including this one, that no-one got 150kms out of a 2010 model. I guessed I may get 100kms instead and Morisset was the exact distance more or less.

About the Woolies car park - I used to work at Charmhaven, so I would travel through Morisset and occasionally do my shopping there at Woolies. I had noticed that they had those 10 amp "outdoor" type power points, scattered around the car park, whilst I've got the same here at home in the garage. So yes I made a converter. It's got a 10 amp male plug and a 15 amp female, but it has 2.5 mm wire meaning a 12 amp load should be perfectly safe.

I did try to find where the Woolies centre management office was, to get permission to use their power, but couldn't find it. So I hoped if someone walked up to me about it, I'd just offer them $5 or something and they'd let me keep going, but no one bothered me. As I waited I just grabbed some lunch, watched a couple of TV shows I had downloaded on my laptop, and the time went pretty quickly.

Needless to say I can take my converter with me anywhere, but at home I have converted the original 10 amp power point in the garage to a 15 amp one. I know the circuit is rated at 30 amps overall, so I just note the load that maybe on it if I charge the car during the da. Then again I only recharge at night, for the most part, so it doesn't really matter.
