There are the packs for Prius EV mode range extension. How long b4 someone risks their warranty to try it…
I soooo want Nissan to build a range extending towable generator for Oz.

There was this kit from Enginer for the Leaf.

Don't think you will ever see a towable range extender for the Leaf. Like most EV's (all?) the Leaf is not rated to tow anything.

It's a real shame you can't tow. A small trailer turns any car into a utility vehicle. Perhaps the very possibility of range extending trailers is the real reason? More likely because they don't want to deal with clueless drivers getting stranded.

It doesn't help much that all the charging inlets are in the nose of the Leaf. It would require some extra facility on the rear plus systems change to allow driving with the generator running. In other words, a standard Leaf won't work.
