Still a bit strange though... I'm guessing here, you've done roughly ~50km from fully charged to 2 bar remaining (with roughly ~20-ish km left in the GoM)? That's a bit odd indeed (with only losing 1 health bar).

I vaguely remember that I needed to lose roughly 3-health bars to get to that point. At that point, the GoM behaves highly non-linear, i.e. there is still much more range on the lower end.

Do let us know if you manage do another test, preferably to VLBW, i.e. when the dash showing "---" in range. When it hits VLBW, you have roughly 2kWh remains. Since you don't want to exhaust beyond 1kWh remaining, you roughly have 7km range (with 0.14kWh/km) as soon as the VLBW chimes.

Has anyone done used the Nissan Australia battery replacement program recently? I am wondering if the price has changed since I did it in 2020?

Follow-up: I have made sent an enquiry to Nissan and will follow up here once I hear back.

I don't know any recent battery replacements. Most were 2 or 3 years ago.

I spoke to Nissan. The exchange program is still as I remember it from a couple of years ago. $9,950 for the battery plus workshop time to install it.

My local dealer tells me that they need to do 3 hours of diagnostic testing to confirm that a battery is eligible for replacement. If you have a LEAF with 6 bars gone, this seems like a silly and wasteful exercise. It's clear as day that the battery is eligible to be replaced.

It Looks like you can get replacement Leaf batteries in Australia now. I understand Graham in Qld, and Mark in ACT are both doing them. Don't know if they are working together. But all the details look similar:

Graham is $18k and Mark is $18.5.

I understand they are both using LFP cells, so degradation shouldn't be an issue, even without thermal management.

Capacity is 50KWh I think.

If anyone has any real world info, or has gone down this route, please share your experiences.

I'm thinking hard about this myself.

 What a teaser!

Couldn't you give just a little more detail than "Mark, ACT" and "Graham, Qld" ??

I sold my ZE0 to my neighbour a couple of months ago and he sent it down to Melbourne to replace the 24kWh pack with a 40kWh pack. Very happy customer.
They are wholesalers and importers and also do replacements.
They intend establishing a network of installers around the country rather than doing the replacements themselves.

40 kWh Performance Pack $13,990 +GST $1399
40 kWh OEM Pack fromZE1 $14,990 +GST $1499
50 kWh Performance Pack $16,500 +GST $1650
62 kWh Performance Pack $18,990 +GST $1899

Several members have found the provider mentioned here to be untrustworthy. A visit to the site showed no evidence of battery swaps or work being done. Until we see evidence of happy customers, I'd say treat it with caution.

That's unfortunate.
I can attest to the work done: my friend is very happy with the work.
He and I spoke just this morning and he was saying how fabulous it is to have transformed my old 60km range ZE0 into a 260km ZE0. They're very happy.
He had the car trucked down to Melbourne where the work was done.
I can't explain the experience of others. Perhaps when the concerns were raised the business was just getting started.

Cool. So maybe you can find out and advise where exactly in Melbourne the work was done.

Here is my friend's comments:
I didn't travel to Melbourne. Car was transported to and from with Prixcar. All contact via text, phone and email. I'll see if I have a photo.

My job was one of the last [for] Bigger Energizer as Bigger Energizer are now focusing on importing and wholesaling the batteries to a network of installers in Australia. They're fairly active on the Nissan Leaf Owners Australia Facebook group.

Only photo I have - not great but shows the battery pack out on the pallets and the Leaf over in the corner.

I would like to know what is the biggest number of kWh can be fitted into a 30kWh Leaf battery shell, what battery chemistry is available, and if there is any option for heat management?
I did have a look around aiiexpress and didn't find any options which were LFP batteries, nor any heat management options.
