So 40 years ago someone built an electric plane.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mauro_Solar_Riser

30V nicad pack and a starter motor.
With 2.6kW it had a top speed of 32kph.
That's 82Wh/km or nearly twice as efficient as a small eV.

Even now I know with current technology this could be made much lighter, stronger and fly for an hour.

Where's our electric planes?
No daily driver - daily flyer!

100 years ago, the electric car was predominant in New York. So were electric trams.

Then they discovered oil.

I think it wonderful that, against an ongoing effort to deny a better future in order to protect a profitable present, the electric planes, boats, drones - they keep coming. And still they come.

So I have been corrected on this point.
Seems the plane can be made lighter but on the other side of the coin people have got fatter over the last 40 years.
So the net weight is the same

Richo, my man. You're not really Scott Morrison, ARE YOU?
You made a comment and now have been corrected by yourself.

Good. There are many more corrections to be made, but regrettably, very few points to be found

I was corrected in the real world - not on this thread.

Please keep it on topic.
