I'm happy with my motor that cost twice as much, weighs half as much and puts out 3 times the power and torque. But yeah, great to see the AC evolution :D

Does your motor come with a matching controller at twice that price?

Also, this is an induction motor. The peak power and torque are very good for an ACIM, and it doesn't rely on rare earth magnets.

I wish it was possible to buy the motor without the controller. That motor with 3 times the DC bus voltage available would approach 200kW with an appropriate controller.

I was being a little facetious Image, but yeah, AC motors are the cheap bit. It's the inverters that let you down. Induction motors are getting into the 2-3 kw/kg constant power range, which is pretty close to the PMAC range. They are still rather large though. Is it possible to liquid cool these guys?

You can liquid cool anything :) it just depends if it will continue working in water lol.
I have been playing with machining water jackets for smaller motors :) nothing really hard if u have access to $100,000 machine lol
