Thank god it's 3 phase, otherwise I'd be trying to explain to my wife where I'm going to put a hoist and why I need it

single phase to 3-phase vsd is only like $200 brand new (hoist just goes up a bit slower)

You can change the wiring from star to delta and will run at the same speed.
And if you put a vfd you can adjust how fast it goes up so you can get very accurate positioning.
So better start working on your explanations.

You should be able to just sling a moke up a couple of gum trees. She'll be right mate! ;)

$600? Lucky my garage isn’t really tall enough for a hoist. Kinda defeats the purpose when you can’t get the vehicle much higher than a jack stand.

I normally just make sure I bend with my knees when I need to lift it up. Its just hard working with only 1 arm while the other is holding the car up in the air :D

I don't have the height for one either, my shed is a sea container and my garage is just a standard under the main roof carport. Maybe it could go out the front on the driveway, sort of a community hoist perhaps
