what is the reason for going volt and not outlander?

have you seen my 2012 volt review

My wife doesn't want another SUV & a Tesla S is not in the budget this time around.
(need to sell the kids first)
The Volt that we drove was very quiet & no whining noise that I noticed.

whining occurs when in HOLD mode like a prius.
I presume you only need 4 seats
will you be removing the rubber air dam?
