RFE batteries, BMS, charger from Enginer kit.

Post by BigMouse » Fri, 11 Jul 2014, 01:35

When I helped Jason upgrade the batteries in his PHEV Prius, he gave me the set from the car. The BMS is a bit shotty, but the batteries themselves actually seem to be okay. We replaced the lot of them because the BMS was showing cell 16 to be erratic in voltage, but checking with a meter showed it was the same as the others.

That said, the actual condition of these batteries is not really known. The charger works fine and is controlled by the BMS. I haven't been able to get the data logging to SD card working again since I deleted the old files from the original.

I've been using these for testing my motor controller in the 300zx project and haven't noticed any issues.

I don't want to bring these with me to the US, so I'm offering the kit up for sale here. 80Ah 48v nominal. Comes with charger, BMS, and some cables with appropriate anderson connectors.

Make an offer and come pick them up (I don't want to ship them).

You're welcome to arrange your own courier if you want it shipped. That goes for anyone else too. As long as they come pick it up. I could even through them in one of the crates the the CALB cells for the 300zx came in.

I'm guessing that this is the story of the replacement:

Enginer PHEV kit Rebuilt with quality components and new batteries.

Edit: I see that this link was posted before, but I guess it's handy to have it repeated here.

Yup, that's the story. There's some more detailed information about the condition of the cells (optimistic findings in my opinion) in this post.

So to be clear... there are two boxes there, and one of them says 48 V 80 Ah... but in fact it's 80 Ah total, with each box being 40 Ah. Is that right? Or is it in fact 160 Ah total?

What's the approximate weight? We'd need to know that for freight.
