My little Suzuki Carry is back on the road, now with Lithium power. Headways have replaced the old Lead Acid and the difference is sensational. My EV grin is back Image

Estimate is 165km (from Mark's Facebook :-)

Old was 450kg of Trojans

New is 450 x Headway 40160S Cells in 45s10p (45 series, 10 parallel) for 144V, 160Ah which is half the weight, and probably good for 1600 amps / 160kW plus.

The Curtis limits it to 500A / 72 kW electrical though.

cheers,
Woody

As I write, it's good for the "old" or "before" information. Hopefully soon, for the "new" or "after" information.
Nissan Leaf 2012 with new battery May 2019.
5650 W solar, 2xPIP-4048MS inverters, 16 kWh battery.
1.4 kW solar with 1.2 kW Latronics inverter and FIT.
160 W solar, 2.5 kWh 24 V battery for lights.
Patching PIP-4048/5048 inverter-chargers.

On Saturday Ohmboy drove to Anthony's(121 conversion), saw Ian(Smart conversion), Geoff (numerous conversions) Anthony (Gasless dragster). Also saw Peter (Romagna) while getting a topup at Rouse Hill. Total distance 112 km, only issue is an overheating Curtis, ambient at 42 didn't help.

Saw it in action last night, I think it would give many a hot 4 banger a real scare in a traffic light grand prix.
