hehe you know there's also a Nissan R230?
They're in twin turbo 300ZXs, but no one uses them because you generally can't break an R200 :P

That's a really solid rear end for a small vehicle. It'll bounce all over the place unless you do it properly (IMO).
BTW - looks fantastic!

Does anyone know if that is a hard and fast regulation? I tried looking for a few hours but couldn't find anything.
Only that if you don't have them, the vehicle is being supported on the wheel studs which are often just pressed in from behind. When I was trying to get rim spacers for the Vogue I was warned very strongly to ensure that the spacers had the correct diameter to support the rim. If the studs are threaded into the hub then maybe you can get away with it but I'm told it's bad practice!

Do the extra support bars help to stop torque twist of the motor with respect to the rear section of the frame?

Can you get a chair about the correct height and mock up the grey tubing where it joins the rear part of the frame. It looks to me like your calves will be resting on the tubing. Unless I've got the seating position wrong or you are going to force your legs out in front with footrest placement.
if I move the bend forward I may actually make it worse because the diagonal down bar from the handle bars, and the lower chassis rails would be radially in line from the axle centre.
Sorry - I don't follow what the concern is. If the bends line up vertically then the whole trike could bend in the middle on a sever bump but other than that - it's all pretty strong.
Does a bend reduce the strength of the tubing much (how much - any idea)?

How do you get the motor into the frame?

It's a matter of taste, but I prefer this one:
Image

If you match the style front + back (e.g. gloss black with semi-gloss metal) you'll be 99% of the way to having matching wheels.

Contrasting front and back wheels can work on a bike or hot rod in a way which you wouldn't get away with in a normal car.
