Canberra Hilux (for sale too)

Post by sascha » Tue, 22 Dec 2009, 22:03

Hi everyone

Some may have seen my hilux at the National EV Festival in October on Canberra. I'll post some photos soon. Its a 1982 Hilux 2WD. Converted with the "standard" ADC FBC4001, Curtis 1231C, Allbright contactor, Trojan T105s (144V), Woods charger, Wilwood hydraulic brake system, Curtis accelerator kit etc.

I need help though as I unfortunately have to sell it moving to darwin):
How do I get access to the buy/sell forum? I am an aeva member but haven't posted more than the 30 times to get access.

Its not fancy, but has run well for 2 years / 35,000km. I was thinking of selling it for the value of the parts $15,500. Does anyone have feedback on that price?

Cheers, Sascha

PS Might set up another AEVA branch in Darwin if there isn't one
PPS Does anyone know a cheaper transport option Canberra/Sydney to Darwin and back for $4000 by truck.

Hey Sascha,

I read about your electric Hilux & would love to know if you do conversions for others, or if you can refer us to anyone who does?

Look forward to hearing from you,

Simon

www.evpower.com.au in Margaret River can do conversions, or at least help you along with your own

www.evworks.com.au has been known to do conversions

www.evshop.com.au is pretty good with conversions

how often do you come up to Perth?

hey sascha, if you really like your ev, why not bring it over and register it in NT

or are EV restrictions different for each state ?
there is an awful lot to learn about EV's :)

Hi everyone

Yes I did end up taking it to the NT, getting it registered there was no trouble. The heat did eat up my lead acid batteries (kept evaporating and I couldnt keep up the water replacement!)

So when I moved back to NSW I got lithiums: now have 45 x 160 Ah pack: its beautiful. But for anyone thinking of relocating an electric car to NSW, the RTA require an engineering cert from their own list, my engineer fro, ACT was not there.

Anyway to answer Simons question, in doing the NSW rego I found a great person to do conversions: Geoff O'Toole at GTTooling (email is geoff@gttooling.com.au) I highly recommend him.

My ute is no longer for sale but I do have a charger for sale after moving to lithiums: Woods 96-144V 10 - 20 amp variable charger. Was reconditioned with new electronics just before I changed batteries so its still in the box. PM me if anyone would like to buy it.

Cheers, Sascha
