Never mind those useless little fake ICE engine noise makers, this should move pedestrians on nicely? Could be hard on batteries though, a person might actually have to stop to use it.

When did pedestrians become the enemy?

What about a forward firing net which incorporates air-bag technology to kind of wrap the "about to be hit" pedestrian and then turns into something like the mars rover landing system - a giant beach ball.

Or an airbag system stuck to the front of the car?

You get the same thing on push-bikes - pedestrians not looking and walking out in front of you. Usually the rider comes off worse.
