Unfortunately only road registered vehicles can attend. We have tried to put Voltron on the chute for Whoopass Wednesdays but they always get stuck on the fact that it's never been licensed. One of these days when I find the money I will put it over the pits and get a plate.

Keen to see how a P85+ goes though!

If memory serves the Valiant I used to own did around 85 mph on the 1/4 mile. But the best ET was 16.8. It appears that the instant torque of an electric motor make it an ideal drag racing motor. I should still have the time slips so I might dig them out to compare the 60' times.

After I watched this video, I watched a couple of related ones. I had to stop watching the one with the guy doing 212 km/h on the autobahn, talking about all the fast chargers there were, and wind turbines whizzing past at great speed. The envy was just too much for me.

Why can't we have that here? I suppose we're too sparsely populated to support that sort of infrastructure. Sigh.

Three times higher consumption at that speed huh? I guess I'll just have to take his word for that one.

I had a laugh at him complaining about being held up by slower traffic... while doing 160km/h and again at 180km/h

Chatting away, pressing buttons on his info screen and the speedo is hovering around the 200k to 210km/h mark.... maybe in the NT you could get away with that

I was of the understanding that each drag racer has a specific time.
When there is a difference in the tree lights it's so they finish at the end at the same time.
So either the muscle car had something wrong or the Tesla went way under their time - which would disqualify them.

Sure the Tesla may have a better 1/4 mile but did it really win the race?

Richo, it depends on what class they're racing in. Each driver nominates a time in "dial your own" classes, like you've said. It looked to me like they got the green light together, indicating it was a "heads up" race i.e. no handicap to either driver. I think the Tesla won the start, and the race.
