There were several EVs entered in the annual Pikes Peak race in Colorado, USA. It was delayed several weeks by the fires there.

Here is a somewhat confused video of the Mitsubishi entries; there seems to be a stock iMiev, and a highly modified one with three motors.

Ok, in case that doesn't work: https://www.youtube.com/user/Mitsubishi ... re=3Dwatch

Beccy, you can drive my EV any day. Do you reckon they drive 'em back down hill again afterwards to savor all that regen?
Watched a Foxtel doco last night on Alstrom's 500km/h trains. Perm mag motors & the location of the cigarette pack sized magnets on the rotor was hush, hush, the only part of the drive assembly not filmed. Disappointingly, no mention of the controllers. Would have been nice to see how they change the 15kv single line from the pantograph into 3 phase for the motors.

It's a shame Nissan or Tesla did not enter a car.

In the last year, I believe. That's why they are saying the records will have to start anew from this year.
