Vic meeting: online EV owners forum. June 10th

Post by Bryce »

Hi all, I am pleased to announce that here in Victoria we are experimenting with a form of meeting this month!

Our usual meeting time this month will be taken up with a research focus group for Victorian EV owners, run by a university research group on behalf of the Victorian Government.

To join in the session - you will need to contact Hugo Temby (via the email link below) to get the Zoom meeting details.

I will certainly be there to participate in and introduce the session - hoping as many of you too can join in to share your EV experiences and assist the Victorian Government shape a practical EV rollout policy.

By the way, Hugo has also kindly offered to assist anyone not familiar with online meetings to get online and participate in the session - so don't hold back if you are not familiar with the technology: this is your chance to experiment before we begin in July to run our own monthly meetings via Zoom!

Kind regards
Bryce Gaton
Secretary, AEVA Vic. branch.

Event details:

Watts up with your EV? ANU wants to hear from you!

The Australian National University is investigating people’s experiences with new energy technology, including electric vehicles. The research will help relevant government agencies better manage new risks to consumers, and update current energy consumer protections.

As part of the research, we want to hear from Victorians with electric vehicles—particularly those who may have had any issues with their technology, so we can better understand whether and how these have been resolved.

You are invited to participate in an online focus group at 7 pm on Wednesday 10 June 2020, using the Zoom video calling program. The session will run for around 1 to 1.5 hours and will provide an opportunity to exchange views on EVs and related issues.

To receive login details for the session please email Hugo Temby, Research Manager at the ANU’s Battery and Grid Integration Program, College of Engineering and Computer Science, at voices@anu.edu.au

In your response, please include your name, age, suburb, and if possible your gender, and the type of electric vehicle that you own or use.

The research is part funded by the Victorian Energy and Water Ombudsman of Victoria and Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning. Results of the research will be shared publicly and we hope they will improve the experiences of consumers in the future.
