New AEVA Brochures on the way...

Post by jonescg » Sat, 11 Jan 2014, 02:49

Well they're not even one quarter done yet, but I am looking for some photos to put into them.

The idea is to have two brochures -

- one full of information about the AEVA, why it was formed and how EVs are awesome. It also has a membership form attached.

- and one full of soft-core technical information on electric vehicles; both production EVs and conversions, as well as some valuable information about kilowatts, amps and volts. And maybe why you can't put a wind generator on the front...

I am about halfway through the first one, but I would REALLY love an old photo of an AEVA member proudly displaying their EV from a long time ago. Some of our more senior members might have some Polaroids lying around? It would really look the part on the introduction page.

I will post up a PDF of it once it has consensus amongst committee members.

I like it Image People don't quite grasp "energy" - it's not easy.

I got a great photo for the front of our new brochure, but I need an old picture (faded polaroid style) too. We're pretty close I think.

OK the general flier should be ready this week. Once the national committee has reached a consensus on it, we'll generate a high-res PDF and send it to each branch for them to print. We went through almost all of our fliers made in 2009, so it's good timing.

Still waiting on the higher resolution image of Julia standing next to her Beetle! Can someone in Canberra nag her to find one, or take a new one? Image

Well thanks to Mitch for producing what I believe to be a wonderful flier and promotion for the AEVA. Many thanks also to everyone who provided images and input into the text.

An electronic, high-res version has been emailed to each of the branches around the country, so at your next meeting try to arrange for a stack of them to be printed. If you are a member of the AEVA but don't live close to a capital city branch (like any Tasmanian members or those from northern Australia) and you would like to do some EVAngelising, contact your branch for a copy.

Just picked up the 2200 beautifully printed and folded brochures from the Printer. Many thanks to our member network for getting a great price ~$350 all up!

I'm hoping to mail these out to the branches tomorrow if I get some addresses.

Brochures look great!

"How about this soft core factoid."

I think its this kind of analogy that works. I would love to make a little short video of a week with a EV and have the comparison done with out ICE car. To try and point out the reality of the it all.

Perhaps not a simple factoid but one way to show the stark contrast.

I like took a pic a few weeks ago showing the fluids used each major service/ 40,000km on our 4wd, Image

8lt engine oil, 4lt transmission oil, 2lt transfer case oil, 2lt front diff, 2lt rear diff, 0.5lt electric selector, 1.5lt brake fluid, 10lt coolant,

oil filter, air filter, fuel filter, timing cover gasket.

You then need to dispose of all that used toxic waste and parts each time.

$515 in parts alone!

The 40,00km service on the Imiev requires changing the brake fluid. Image
