Source for water heater - Dish washers

Post by a4x4kiwi » Mon, 14 Mar 2016, 01:26

Hi All,

Long time no post. Someone may have posted this idea already but here goes.

I have found an interesting source of hot water heater.

Dishwasher water heaters. Washing machine water heaters may also be a possibility.

This one is from a dishlex / electrolux.
it is 2100W 230V. The hose fittings are 40mm.

Here is a pic

Huh, great idea. Image I recently did a dishwasher repair involving the heater, and didn't think of potential EV application. I'm going to claim it was because this one had the heater connections so crazily mounted (almost a complete circle of thick wire), uninsulated, which I thought was so bizarre for a dishwasher, that I was distracted! [ Edit: mine seemed to be integrated with a pump, which could also be useful. Samsung dishwasher. I can't tell from the photo if yours has a pump as well. ]

No pump, just a straight through pipe with the heater element around the outside.
