Not much on AVEA about the LTO batteries so far.
They are 2.4V have high C rates for discharge AND charge.
They also have really good cycle life - better than LeFePO4.
One manufacturer is claiming 16,000 cycles Image
Mitsubishi put the Toshiba SCiB's in "some" Mievs'.

The down side is they aren't as energy dense as some.
So an ev wont have as good range.
But will charge in next to no time! ... te_battery

The link below has them in 18650 size that are radial PCB mount.
Just don't run them through the wave machine. Image Image
In comparison they are about 10x the price of Headway cells per Wh. ... ttery.aspx

And a data sheet for an LTO.
20 year life span
15,000 cycles to 85% capacity. (seems real as UPS has 50k+ cycles to 50%DOD)
Up to 100+ C discharge (Mmmm someone may have to validate that!!!)
Safe to over 200 Deg C

Now A123 have acquired some IP from Leyden Energy and some of their techs.
So it looks like A123 are now trying to expand there battery chemistry to include LTO batteries.

Here is A123's press release from yesterday. ... detail.htm
