Tesla 85KWh battery and running gear
Found a supplier in Sydney, that imports Tesla 85Kwh battery packs, with running gear, including motors for $20K seams a bit much for me, but i have no idea what that stuff is worth, so if anyone want details, i can provide them. i wont be ordering anything, as i dont have the cash spare or time to do anything with it. no car, just the pack and running gear only.
Rob.

Yeah I can't imagine that there would be too many Tesla's already scrapped world wide.
Sorry but I'm hearing that old saying in the back of my mind.
Something about if it's too good to be true...

Are there issues with the packs cooling system after it hasn't been going for some time?
I've heard second hand rumors of corrosion issues.
All very interesting but the thought of changing the pack structure to fit something else isn't appealing.
What is the chance that the exact pack shape fit's in a conversion?
How many 18650's are in there now? I bet its more than the original 6831

Extremely low I would think. You would have to make an ICV with the express purpose of fitting a Tesla pack of that vintage - or fit the whole lot into a tray truck! Getting the sub-packs out of the full pack is doable but the subpacks are really not able to be pulled apart (in any reasonable sense).Richo wrote:What is the chance that the exact pack shape fit's in a conversion?

Yeah I like how they use a crobar and the like to pry open the top.
The modules look reasonable.
444 cells 76P6S 24V 5.3kWh 26.6kg
Dubai - really
Just what every oil mogul needs an environmental conscious and a Tesla to boot.
edit:added weight

Even if a tesla pack was split in 2 or 3 it would be ok for most conversions.
So landed at my door that's about AUD$32k?!?
split in 2 that's 45kWh AUD$16k
split in 3 that's 30kWh AUD$11k
split in 4 that's 22kWh AUD$8k
All of which are over 100km range.
How many modules are there? 17?

1 module would be a good E-Bike battery and 2 would make a mind blowing mobility chair lol

The 85kWh packs have 16 modules (7104 cells)
For AUD$20k that seems like a bargain.. Even more so if the running gear is included
