Interesting conversation by LG chemicals and Sakti3, interviewed, as to where battery tech and costs are now, and where they are headed , and how fast.

According to the experts, lithium-ion batteries are here to stay at least another 10 years and prices will fall down. LG Chem stated that by 2017, 200-mile range EVs should be realistic at a price point of $35,000. Sakti3 on the other hand hopes for $100 per kWh on the cell level and expects sales for consumer electronics in two years (later for electric cars).

Link here , including good video - watch the lot..By 2017, a 200 mile range should be realistic

How about it, it looks promising, doesn't it?

A dry battery? I always think of chemistry as a wet science! 2017 in phones & laptops maybe, lot longer for car traction I fear. Hope they do better than Avestor.

Ask a bunch of battery people how good batteries will get and you'll get a biased response.
I'll put it in the bucket with the other 50 promising battery techs that say they've made a breakthrough and will revolutionise the industry.
