Oh, nice! Was the Model S RHD? I haven't seen any pics of them yet. Must be a Tesla demonstrator since they're not officially released here yet.

Stone from Tesla brought it along. Most impressive car I've seen for a long time.

Stone was saying it's the first RHD Model S in the southern hemisphere. Comes complete with NSW registration and fuel consumption sticker (181Wh/km).

The car was the top of the line P85 in midnight blue with dark 21" wheels and full sunroof. Looks like they're using a Mennekes plug similar to the Euro Teslas. Funniest thing was seeing the charge cable fitted with a 10A 3 pin => 30+ hour charge time! They're going through some certifications for chargers at the moment I think so users will be able to get 10 or 20KW fitted at home using 3 phase..

Deliveries to start in July/August for reservation holders.

As for the Zero SR that's the second one Central Coast Motorcycles have sold and would give the Tesla a good run for its money out of the lights Image

If you're interested in the Zero bikes, give Grant at Central Coast Motorcycles a call. They have one or two demo bikes a couple of thousand off retail ATM. Let him know that David who bought the SR referred you and he'll take care of you.

does anyone know if the indicators on the Model S are software driven like the Volt?
If so then it is another reason that the Model S will be off my list.

It's a bit unfair to compare Tesla software with GM software.
Not all software is created equal.

So is the LEAF. I noticed one day that while the seatbelt warning was sounding there was no indicator click.

Thanks for that info.
Does the Sat Nav instructions over ride the turn signal sound?

not really comparing quality of software

just the whole concept of having a turn signal that is software based puts me off
I am old fashioned I guess.
Just that in the volt when sat nav lady says something, the indicator sound flies out the window.

interestingly in the imiev similar thing happens in terms of warning beeps seeming to override the turn signal clicks.
sat nav is just fine.
I can still hear the clicking over the sat nav directions.
This is also because the sat nav in the imiev is a separate Fujitsu unit that has been customised for the imiev.

If I'm not mistaken, Tesla uses the L2 and L3 pins of the Mennekes connector as the DC input when connected to a supercharger.

There's want to be some sophisticated smarts in there to switch the right pins!

The red nosed one on the left is one of our new electric trains.

Correction: the one on the left looks a bit like our new electric trains - but it is one of the new trams.

Yes, and very proud of it - The Lord Mayor (Stephen Yarwood) spoke at our July AEVA Adelaide meeting.
