Hey guys has anyone converted a WRX yet?
I have been eyeing off a 2003 bug eye but without ripping it apart I'm not sure it will have good battery space.
Lightening one up is basically engine related items as without stripping one for race there are not many weight savings to be had.
Any thoughts?

I've always thought a Subaru would be well suited to EV conversion, but a quick look at the EV album shows that they are severely underrepresented. I'm not sure why.

Because they hold thier value quite well so cheap ones are hard to find.
Also the power required is difficult to get in electric ie big $$$
And most who want a WRX aren't prepared to compomise on power.

So the short answer is NO but the long answer is YES.

Yeah it's setting me back 10 but the engine is easily salable.
I have the power to put in it but was wondering if there are any other reasons.
Advantage I see in it is that because they been done to death their well known.
So when I crank the grunt on a dyno at the car shows people may take notice.
I'm hoping anyway

There was an imprezza (though not a wrx) in the album as an eleceokhana vehicle. It had two AC motors, which i always thought was a neat setup.
I'll drive an electric vehicle one day.

Have a look. It interested me for a light weight Impreza conversion.

Yes that is a very cool car
However a slight snag in the plan happened thismorning.
While I sent my lovely partner out to buy a wrx.
Letting her be involved took an interesting turn.....
How is a 2000 gts Celica a wrx?...
Not that I'm complaining as its still an awsome car to convert but so far off the mark of a wrx I'm still a little shocked.
