OK, drool!
That's a cool effort, now who knows what motor they're using?
2kg @ 10kW is not too shabby, could it be a little brusa or similar?

Yes, one of the guys at work is an RC aircraft nut and he pointed me at a sight that had motors with enough thrust that could lift a small adult. He bought in one motor mounted on a wooden plank and it was difficult to hold it under full thrust - and that was a small motor (he said). He buys rare-earth magnets and rewinds the motors. I'm not sure how they would go without the prop-wash to cool them.

definitely need some serious airflow I think!
Still, some of the robot guys are using them now with good success (after having cooked a few earlier ones and blown up a lot of controllers!)

Hi Johny...I was wondering.....Could you tell me please what the site was?...I'd be interested to see if there is anything there that might suit a bike...lotsa airflow there and maybe some ducting for cooling...Johny wrote: Yes, one of the guys at work is an RC aircraft nut and he pointed me at a sight that had motors with enough thrust that could lift a small adult.
Thanks...Ken
PS: anyone else have some info on BIG RC motors?

Definitely but it will have to be tomorrow as It's on my work PC and I'm home today. I can also ask him about other motors - he's pretty keen on what's around.TropicalEV wrote: Hi Johny...I was wondering.....Could you tell me please what the site was?...I'd be interested to see if there is anything there that might suit a bike...lotsa airflow there and maybe some ducting for cooling...
