Victorian EVeco Tour: Nov 14 - 18

Post by Bryce »

Hi all - announcing the official launch of the 2021 Victorian EVeco tour through coastal Gippsland, the High Country and north-central wine region.

FYI: EVeco Tours are something I will set up and run from time to time, and are designed to provide a supportive environment for new EV owners to 'learn-by-doing' by taking their first 'EV long weekend' trip. (Have done enough now to know that the long weekend really does belong to the EV!)

Note: this event is being run under my EVChoice banner.

BTW: am only taking EOIs at present (due to the potential of Covid derailing it for the umpteenth time ... ;-) )

Click the pic there for the EOI form.

Hi Chris-details in link answer those questions. Definitely can't be an open event due to small towns and venues. Also limited to suitable BEV models - EOI form needs to be completed and accepted to join tour - which is limited to 10 cars/20 people max.

Info from the website (taken today - make sure you check yourself if you want to go as it may change!):

EVeco Tour EOI form
Along with being a fun tour of the Victorian countryside, the EVeco Tour is designed to be an extended training session in higher power AC and DC charging, plus how to make accommodation choices best suited to EV travelling .... plus a demonstration to regional Victorians on how EVs do not ‘ruin the long weekend’.
As EVeco Tours are designed specifically for EV owners who have not travelled far from home in their EV before, whilst those with extensive EV travel and away-from-home charging experience are most welcome to apply, if there are more applications than spots in the Tour, preference will be given to less experienced EV owners.
This EVeco Tour will be limited to a maximum of 10 cars and 20 people. Entry cost for the Tour is $275 per car. Included in this price is a full itinerary that covers listings of recommended evening accommodation (that have been previously vetted for EV friendly charging options - with phone numbers and websites for bookings), meal stops, route opportunity charging sites, local attractions along the way AND a support vehicle carrying spare leads and portable EVSEs.

OK, just wondering if we should move this to the For Sale section that's all.

Delay to Victorian EVeco Tour: dates to be determined

Post by Bryce »

Hi all - sadly, Covid has driven it's wrecking ball through all things travel and social again.

In order to be fully organised for the November 14 set-off date, I had set this week as the latest for doing the planning trip for the Tour. (I needed to avoid the Victorian school holidays -which start next weekend - as possible accommodation places would all be booked, and beyond the holidays will be too late to properly organise it!).

Obviously that cannot happen now - plus it is highly unlikely any sort of regional Victoria touring in November would be possible anyway.

As a result, I am officially postponing the Tour to an 'indeterminate' date. Possibilities at this stage are either March or very early/very late April next year. (Easter and the Victorian school holidays being mid-April).

Kind regards
