Technically first photo of Outter tyre wear was 29'500km, but close enough.

We got the car with 2'300km on the clock, and we haven't bought new tyres

Re: New Tyres

Antiscab's tyres, now on the rear, look very good, but have they lasted 30000km? Also, one really needs to also see the inside edge of the tyre to form an opinion about even or uneven wear. That's true, see other side of tyre: IMAG1008.jpg I still think pressure should be above 40psi to wear the ce...

Re: Can I use different capacity cells

Currents flows proportional to the inverse of resistance. The smaller cells generally have higher resistance, and don't put out as many amps in parrallel as the larger cells. It all evens out

Re: Can I use different capacity cells

Yep, that'll work fine. If you want to save on bms, you can parrallel individuallly 10Ah and 15Ah to make 25Ah then put in series. Might be a little awkward in layout though

Many charge points need to activated with an app. I've found nextcharge to be useful, with maps integrated.

One assumes you haven't been cornering everywhere at high speed?
I haven't, but I can't confirm for my partner. I suspect some cornering would have been tighter and at higher speed than I would have done.

I have heard from UK owners than this wear is quite common though.

This post prompted me to get the alignment on our Zoe checked and wheels rotated. at 30'000km the front tyres look like this (now on the back): zoe tyre wear.jpg Wheel alignment was correct, so didn't get adjusted: zoe wheel alignment.jpg Given your wheel alignment could only get within 0.6mm, I can...

Re: Single phase charging

There is value in having home storage beyond charging the zoe more efficiently. Do you have time of use power? Not using power in peak periods there's likely to be some savings. Are you export limited to 5kw? I'd be super tempted to put up more Solar, so there's more time where the surplus is above ...

The study theyre referencing is not available......

At best theyre overestimating the energy required for resource extraction and are hiding their methodology to prevent peer review

We did a day trip Brisbane to Toowoomba then return via Hampton and Esk. A total of 315km and used 66%.
Recharging in 3 pin took 21 hours
Holy guacamole, so total range on country roads is 477km?
how big is the kona battery?

was 3 pin charging 10A or 15A?

I briefly had a Fonzarelli and that got ~50km from a 1650Wh pack = 33Wh per km which is really impressive. It’s pretty light and more for city usage which helps it get those numbers. My bike will be a bit heavier but will be mostly city usage. I ran some numbers for different battery options and ba...

Re: Newbie question about practicalities of charging and range

Warb out of curiosity, from which part of Australia do you hail? Roo bars aren't exactly complicated to make in one off quantities. I had a housemate who made his own and welded it to a Holden combo. This vehicle was used regularly to go to bush doofs, and he did indeed encounter all manner of fauna...

there's also an app called electricitymap and renew watch.

Those pole top transformers are usually 350kva, and dinner time cook peak tends to run from 5pm to 9pm. It won't be long until the cheap rate moves to during the day, and the expensive time to during the night.

Re: replacing the ECU and the battery pack in Miev 2010

Hi Hugh,

welcome to the forum

If I may ask, where are you located?

Assuming the 12v battery is okay, the charger packing it in is somewhat separate to the battery ecu

If getting a new battery, yes the old cells are valuable, both as spares for other old imievs, and for use as solar batteries

Re: Do grid tie inverter have "NO LOAD CONSUMPTION"

Solax no load is 3.5w for their single phase grid tie only units.

I imagine it would be similar for their non isolated battery units, where the battery design voltage is above 300v.

Re: Do grid tie inverter have "NO LOAD CONSUMPTION"

Designs that are entirely solar powered are never at no load when it matters. Ie, the only time they are at no load is when the sun is out and the grid is offline. Designs that are partially mains powered (Solax comes to mind) for their display, Wi-Fi and control hardware do use power at no load. Ie...

Re: First Zoe Service!

Outter front tyre wear is apparently common with the zoe, based on overseas experience. I'm trying out running 44psi all round, to see if I can move the wear a bit more central.

Rotating the tyres does seem to be a good idea
